CEDRUS libani subs. atlantica

'Atlas Cedar'. A large or very large tree or rapid growth when young. Leaves green or grey-green, thickly covering the long branches which, though somewhat ascending at first, eventually assume the horizontal arrangement generally associated with C.libani. The Atlas Cedar is said to differ from the 'Cedar of Libanon' in a number of characters such as hairier shoots, larger leaf rosettes, but varyinig from tree to tree. It is perhaps best considered as a geographical subspecies of C. libani.
